This small house stands opposite the well-known House of Menander in Vicolo Meridionale, which can be reached directly from Via Stabiana by taking the side street almost opposite the Temple of Jupiter Meilichios. The name was given to the house by the archaeologists who chose it from one of the nine election slogans painted on the front wall. GUSTUM DE PRAECOQUIS (Starter with Apricots)
(Apic. 4, 5, 4) Ingredients:
1 kg firm ripe apricots or nectarines
200 ml white wine
250 ml Passum
peppermint tea bag (portion for one cup)
ground pepper
Liquamen or salt
cornstarch
a little bit of vinegar
honey
Instructions:

Wash, cut and stone apricots. Put them with a little cold water in a pan.
Pulverize ground pepper and dried mint (that's where the tea bag comes handy),
add Liquamen or salt, honey, Passum, wine and vinegar. Pour into the pan with a
